MAI was founded in 1930 and it is one of the leading centers for training engineering and technical personnel in Russia. In addition to educational activities it also conducts research in a number of industries, such as: aviation and aerospace, electrification and robotics, nanomaterials and nanotechnology, and in other unique and innovative areas.
For many years of MAI’s existence more than 175 thousand high-class specialists have graduated from it, including 23 cosmonauts who have worked more than 15 years in space and performed 65 spacewalks.
Graduates of MAI work as leading specialists of the enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and more than 250 graduates became general (chief) designers of world-famous enterprises, such as Roscosmos, JSC Concern VKO Almaz-Antey and other organizations of the aerospace and defense industry.
